We were generally very impressed with the facilities particularly in terms of areas of equality and diversity (DDA) provision where you seemed to have “ticked all the boxes” which is commendable especially for such a small organisation “

Heading straight for the Topps
Topps has been awarded a Grant through the Targeted Support Fund (featured in the Wolverhampton Voice Magazine October 2009)
Topps identified that whilst the effects of the recession are being felt nationwide, there has been a significant impact on Wolverhampton with jobs being lost in manufacturing, engineering, automotive, finance and banking sectors. This has led to an increase in demand for the services that Topps offer as redundancies occur and people consider new career paths and employment opportunities outside the sector they have left.
With the award of £20,650, Topps aims to help around 100 redundant or newly unemployed people gain the skills and confidence to gain employment in a new sector. An initial one-to-one diagnostic interview will be held with each applicant, followed by a comprehensive series of five individual mentoring and development sessions for those progressing to the next level. These will provide knowledge and confidence to excel at interview and will help those involved to understand new sectors and, where appropriate, the management approaches required to gain employment in them.
DSC00168.JPG
Anna Wright from Topps explains further, “These innovative services will make a real difference, providing beneficiaries with the confidence, interview skills and sector knowledge to gain employment, whilst recommencing their contribution to the local economy. We expect to make a real, sustained difference through this programme.”
